Screen Recorder – Video Editor (“the App”) is developed by Zent AI Studio (“we,” “us”). The App lets you record your device’s screen, capture screenshots, and edit the resulting videos — trim, cut, merge, add music, blur or add text, transcribe audio, and more — entirely from your device.
This policy explains what data the App and its third-party services handle, and why. The short version: your recordings and screenshots stay on your device unless you choose to share them; we use standard analytics, crash-reporting, and advertising SDKs to keep the App running and free.
2 Your Recordings & Screenshots
Everything you record or capture — screen recordings, screenshots, audio recordings, and anything you produce with the editing tools — is saved as a file in your device’s local storage (and, where you enable it, your device’s Gallery/Photos app). The App does not upload this content to our servers, and we cannot access it. It leaves your device only if you explicitly use the App’s Share feature to send it somewhere else, which hands the file to the app you choose (e.g. WhatsApp, Google Drive) through your device’s own share sheet.
3 Permissions We Request
Android requires the App to declare why it needs each sensitive capability. Here is what each permission is used for and nothing more:
Permission
Used for
Screen capture (MediaProjection)
Recording your screen and taking screenshots when you start these actions.
Microphone
Recording narration/voice-over into your screen recordings or the standalone Audio Recorder, only while a recording is active.
Camera
The optional face-cam overlay, shown only while you’ve turned it on during a recording.
Display over other apps
The floating quick-launch bubble and the face-cam overlay, both opt-in from Settings.
Notifications
The persistent recording-status notification with Pause/Stop/Screenshot controls while you’re recording.
Storage / Media access
Saving your recordings and screenshots to your device and reading them back into the Library and Editor.
Each permission is requested the first time you use the feature that needs it, and you can revoke any of them at any time in Android Settings › Apps › Screen Recorder › Permissions.
4 Analytics & Crash Reports
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics (both Google services) to understand how the App is used in aggregate and to catch bugs. These collect device information (model, OS version), app usage events (screens viewed, features used, ad interactions), and, if the App crashes, a diagnostic stack trace. This data is tied to an anonymous device/installation identifier, not to your name or contact details, and we do not use it to identify you personally.
See Google’s Privacy Policy for how Firebase handles this data.
5 Advertising
The App shows ads through Google AdMob (banner, interstitial, rewarded, and app-open ads) to keep the App free. AdMob may collect advertising identifiers and usage data to serve and measure ads, and, depending on your region and consent choices, to personalize them. You can review or reset your advertising ID, and opt out of personalized ads, in your device’s Google Settings › Ads.
Some features (such as unlocking 2K/4K recording) are gated behind a rewarded ad that you choose to watch in exchange for the unlock — we do not require payment or an account for this.
Features like Transcribe, Auto Captions, and Translate run using on-device machine-learning models (Whisper for transcription, Google ML Kit for translation). Your audio and text are processed locally on your device for these features; they are not sent to our servers. Google ML Kit may download its language model files over the network the first time you use a language, which is a standard Google service operation, not content upload.
7 Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers named in this policy (Google, for Firebase and AdMob) to operate the App, and only to the extent needed for the purposes described above, or if required by law.
8 Data Security
Your recordings and screenshots are stored using standard Android app-storage protections and are only accessible to the App and, where you grant it, apps you explicitly share content with. No method of electronic storage is 100% secure, but we don’t transmit your content off-device, which limits its exposure.
9 Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us using the details below and we will remove it.
10 Your Choices
Revoke Camera, Microphone, Notifications, or Storage permissions any time in Android Settings.
Delete individual recordings/screenshots directly from the App’s Library, or delete the App to remove all locally stored content.
Reset or opt out of your advertising ID in Google Settings › Ads.
Contact us to ask what diagnostic data we hold and request its deletion.
11 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the App changes. We’ll update the “last updated” date above when we do. Continued use of the App after a change means you accept the updated policy.
